Ordering and Paying for the Program
Prices
The price of a NEW copy of Latin without Tears is £50. This price covers a site licence for up to 20 computers.
The price of an UPGRADE copy of Latin without Tears is £40.
Postage
Postage is FREE within the UK. For postage and packing outside the UK, there is a charge of £2.
On-site licences
If a school or college need to run the program on more than 20 computers simultaneously, add £2 for each extra machine (e.g., for a total of 30 computers: £40 + [(30 - 20) x 2] = £60). Do contact me if you need to negotiate over this formula for a large network.
Off-site licences
Since many Latin departments would like their students to use the program to revise during the holidays leading up to the GCSE examination, special “Off-site Licences” are available for this purpose. For each student using the program on his or her computer at home, the school can buy an Off-site Licence costing £5. Each licence covers a single student for this and subsequent years until a new edition of the program appears.
The scheme works as follows. Suppose 10 students want to use the program for holiday revision. The school’s IT Department copies the program to 10 blank CD disks that remain the property of the school. Students borrow a disk and install the program on their home computers. At the same time, the school contacts me and buys 10 Off-site Licences at a price of 10 x £5 = £50. Later, when students are finished with the program they delete it from their home computers and return the CD disks to the school. The following year, the school has the same set of 10 disks available for a new batch of students.
Since most schools will pass on at least part of the cost to their students every year, they should cover their costs without difficulty.
